Events

We’re running a program of workshops which will be held during July, August, and September. There will be online workshops and two that will take place outdoors. The latter are informal open days at Glasgow venues where people can meet the artists and discuss the project. The Herald will present an online ‘in conversation’ with the artists in September.

We are using EventBrite to manage the events. Regular updates will be posted on this page. If you don't see a workshop that you can attend and you still want to contribute then please feel free to write. The confirmed workshops are:

I remember (the hidden gardens)

This is an open day which will include movement workshops and 'I remember' writing sessions, as well as activities collecting memories of green spaces during the pandemic. All welcome. There is no need to book, but it will help us if you do here. All activities will be socially distanced.

I remember (Pollok Country Park)
Saturday September 11th, 11.00-15.00

Please note, for those with a disability or limited walking and who do not have a blue badge, we can arrange access to the car park if you email us. It is 250m from the car park to the event.

This is an open day which will include 'I remember' writing sessions, photography sessions relating to support, and seed planting with the park rangers. The artist and collaborators will be available to discuss the project. This is an 'all welcome' event and there is no requirement to book, however it would help us to have an idea of numbers, so if you know you are coming please sign up here.

Our event is 200m from the Riverside car park; walk up the Ash Path, past the Meadow, and look for The Beech Grove on your right. The location is 20m off the path, up a short slope. It is not wheelchair accessible, but the team will also meet people on the path.

The memorial team will be joined by Pollok Country Park Staff, who are inviting people to plant a wildflower – meadows cranesbill, primrose, self-heal – or make a flower print on calico, or make a friendship bracelet.
